Day pass with the eldest lad to go off and get hypthermia!
SSW gust to 40 kph predicted so most likely heading for north Mayo where we might get a bit of shelter. Probably somewhere between Ballina and Porturlin.
Any recommendations, bearing in mind the lad is 13 and we really need to catch a few fish to keep him interested and thereby keep me in day passes!

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...
2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks

Hi Kieran,
Can't help you with a location but according to windguru there are gusts of over 100kph predicted for much of the west coast. http://www.windguru.cz/int/index.php?sc=5688&sty=m_menu
Not trying to put you off just letting you know. Best of luck!

Right then, better pack the long rod and the extra big reels... and a kite, NZ style!
And a few beer kegs, purely for ballast you understand
