Dunmore East

#1 Post by DessieD »

Hi Folks, have an offer of a house in Dunmore East for a weekend over the next month or so, so looking at taking it up. Bringing the wife & brats, but plan 1 or 2 early or late sessions.

Does anyone have any tips on Dunmore East i.e. bait, where to fish, best times etc? Much appreciated...

For the pier walk out to red pole.Use mackerel and rag, cast towards hook head.Incoming tide best.Mackeral, flounder, wrasse, dabs, dogfish, gurnard, whiting, codling, eels and pollack.

For flat rocks floating or spinning for wrasse, conger, pollack and coalies.Very rough ground, use mackeral or rag again.

There is mullet in the pier but are elusive.Conger fising is done at night and there is mackeral in harbour at the minute.

enjoy your stay!!!!!
