Dingle Fishing

#1 Post by youonlythevinegar123 »

Well folks, haven't posted in a while as I haven't been fishing much the last year. My dad and I are going to Ballyferriter for 2 or 3 days around Halloween. We'll be staying near fort del oro. I've only ever fished the peninsula with success during the summer. Any marks fishing well at the moment? If you don't wanna give marks out, could anyone tell me what is biting at the moment? PMs welcome , cheers

massive shoals of Mackerel right around the mouth of the harbour the last two weeks and the pollock have been plentiful just off Been Bawn head, with all the mackerel around i can only assume that there's a few predatory fish in the harbour, few ray or something. Foul hooked a plaice last week just on the sand bar off Slaidín so there's fish about just have to get them :)
A bad days fishing is still better then a good day at the office.

weather has taken a massive turn for the worse, good bass weather but high winds out there so rock fishing would be dodgey to say the least!

weather turned again yesterday, nice fishing conditions there now good swells on the north side of the peninsula, a little bit messy on this side but should be good for bass around brandon creek and there abouts!

Not too sure about up there, the winds have turned now and its coming from a more north easterly direction which is good for the west facing beaches, also the weather is quiet calm at the moment, cold and drizzley but calm enough winds and predictable swell (HUGE but predictable)!

Well lads, ended up blanking. Conditions were too bad to do any rock fishing and my surf fishing proved unsuccessful. Oh well, unbelievable to be on the peninsula when the waves are as big and powerful as they were
