Yeah, the savage gear sand eel 12.5cm in pearl and the blue have caught the most for me so far.
The Illex I-shad 4.8 inch and 5.8 inch have been a close second.

Re: most successful soft plastics this year so far ?
Me neither, and I've given it a fair go. I was catching Pollock every cast yesterday on the Beara with a SG sandeel, it was getting hammered, I stuck on that black minnow to see if they'd have it and not a sniff, I put the sandeel back on and the action started again.Eoghan wrote:SG Sandeel for me too. Re: most successful soft plastics this year so far ?
Used savage gear sand eels 3 different colours / blue / yellow / / silver.
Not a touch every time I used them.
Was actually thinking of putting a float with it about half meter from top water.

Can I change them. ?
Any links to what to use appreciated.
Can see them in the water working good though.
Sinks fast though.

Re: most successful soft plastics this year so far ?
Well I often use them weedless with a lead shot in front. great for rocky, kelpy ground. also when 1 is beat up and ripped instead of throwing away i keep about the last inch with the paddle tail. Great for catching smaller wrasseDeise boy wrote:Yeah using original heads. !agardiner22 wrote:are you using the sg heads with them or others because that was my mistake until i switched. got the right movement and technique going.Deise boy wrote:Used savage gear sand eels 3 different colours / blue / yellow / / silver.

Re: most successful soft plastics this year so far ?
Just joined the black minnow bandwagon myself and I have only fished it once. There were no Bass around but the Wrasse loved. I'm fished the 120mm,25g 'offshore' one from a deep water shore mark. Remains to see how the rubber will hold up to repeated Wrasse strikes. I prefer heavier lures in general but I'll give the 12g 'shore' one a shot too.Eoghan wrote:SG Sandeel for me too.
