Ballinskellig Kerry query

#1 Post by flipper »

We are headed over to Ballinskellig for a holiday in a couple of weeks and cannot wait, having done some research on bait digging in the area and it looks like you can dig lug in the area. My concern is that research before for Dingle and Caherciveen holidays has proved a little wayward :( Not looking for exact marks, but, does anyone know if you can dig lug in the area please?

I graham I am going to ballinskelligs, but, experience from dingle three years ago has taught me to treat some of the advice about bait digging spots with a touch of suspicion. Many thanks for your offer of help though.

Kevin is based on the ring of Kerry not the dingle peninsula...

There loads of spots on the way to dingle where you can dig lug, the majority of them are based on the cloghane side of the peninsula..

Pm me and I will gladly send you a link to a google map with all the digging marks on it..
I'd rather be fishing..

2013 : Bass, Flounder, rockling, rainbow, sea trout, sliver eel, flounder, plaice, brown trout, pike, conger, salmon, sea trout, mackerel, pollack, undulate"first".

2012 : Salmon, Sea Trout, Thornback, Ling, Pollack, Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Cod, Bass, Dog fish, Sole "From derrymore!", Pike, Roach, Dab, Turbot, Brown Trout.

You can get as much lug as you want just beside ballycarbery castle, its a bit of a drive from ballinskelligs back as far as caherciveen but it would be worth the effort......................

You cross the bridge in cahersiveen and then take the next left you wont miss the castle, there are oyster beds there just beside where you would be diggin
