Kilmore quay advise

#1 Post by kinderbeano »

Planning to fish around the Kilmore quay area for a few hours Friday afternoon. Iv never shore fished the area before and I'm wondering if anyone has any tips for tackle and possibly marks. Ill be mainly lure fishing as I don't think ill have time to dig bait before then. Thanks very much.

I have seen some very nice bass landed from the junction of the shingle and sand on the beach to the left of Kilmore Quay as you face the sea. Crab baits early in the morning or at dusk as its very shallow and in the area of what are known as "st patrick's islands" or something like that...

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...

2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks
