How to tune a SL20SH?

#1 Post by IDPearl »

Any of you have a link or can tell me how to tune the SL20SH? It's straight out of the box with the supplied blocks added to it. I haven't oiled it or anything yet.

Just wondered if it is definitely my casting style or too much brake that is giving me less distance, because casting a fixed spool with a 12' Shakespear Contender and a SL20SH with a 13' Suveran Beach Sport I'm getting roughly the same distance.

Still need those casting lessons!

Hi

Try Neil MacKellow's website (and you can send him an email too, he is very helpful). He is a long distance caster (past world champion) and designer who works for Penn but he has information on multipliers...

I have a SL30SH and it works extremely well straight out of the box - have not felt the need to tune it yet given I only use it from the boat.

If it ain't broke...
FWIW...
