Portmarnock Bass Fishing

#1 Post by GoLDeNArMS »

Hi all,

Just getting back into the fishing after a four or five year holiday :) the one fish that I really want to catch is a Bass and I've seen many people trying (presumably for Bass) down by the rocks in Portmarnock over the recent few weeks and maybe 1 or 2 of them are members here....I'm just looking for tips regards the tide timing etc. and possibly even the beach, will be using sandeel for bait got a fair few up in Howth today.

Any help at all will be much appreciated,

Cheers.

Wait until there's a bit of a swell, after an easterly wind and fish onto sand with gripper leads. Rag or lug will produce as well.

I'm sorry to say u would have a better chance of finding the irish Crown Jewels than be told about a reliable bass mark in Dublin ,just go by trial and error and lots of homework ,that's how some very tight lipped Dublin bass men did it :D
