Which Winch

#1 Post by herefishyfishy »

Just a quick question regarding which winch I should get. My boat is a Shetland 535 or similar and has a 40HP 2 stroke engine , I see some winches are rate at 1000kg but then say that is for the rolling capacity, but the line pull is rated for 400kg. I take it I should be looking at the line pull rating and not the rolling capacity.
The winch I have on the trailer has seen its last legs so its time to replace it.
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply MAC, I have been away for a couple of days, what I did was removed the old winch and brought it to Indespension in Finglas and got the same make but one size larger than I had already had.
I will have to bolt the new winch on tonight so that I will be ready to hit the water on Friday after work.
