Bass Hunter, Ferrypoint, 9th-12th July

#1 Post by Stan »

People: Me & 2 others

Duration: Morning to late evening

Tide: rising and falling

Weather: Brilliant

Bait: Feathers, jelly worms, rag, lures

Rigs: various

Results: millions of pollock and coalies, some cod, ling, whiting, ray

Report: Fished E Cork/ W Waterford every day last week. In fact was out in the boat more this week than the last 3 years. Fished over reefs, sand and wrecks. Trolled for bass most evenings.
We got loads and loads of fish. Pollock and coalies came up 6 at a time on feathers. When trolling for bass the lure was only in the water when a Pollock grabbed it.

Surprisingly, Mackerel were very scarce and we only caught 3. This did hinder our fishing as they make such a great bait.
Anyway we had a great time and I look forward to more this week.
