Catching Dabs

#1 Post by Cluais »

Hi lads just wondering what I'm doing wrong when fishing for dabs as all I'm catching is rays and plaice
Should I catch dabs in the same area and using lug tipped with squid in Youghal

same here, cant buy a dab for love or money in the Shannon Estuary this year, plenty of huss and ray but no dabs - not even on rag tipped with black lug which always was a winner last year?

would you please stop laughing Denis, this is serious ;)

Its surprising what a dab'll go for at times. On a blinding hot day last week, Herself caught a fine fat one on a mackeral rig in 100ft of water while we were scouring the bottom for bait.
