Newbie - Greystones

#1 Post by DessieD »

Hi All

First post for me. Used to do a lot of shore / pier fishing years ago, and happy to report am now in a position to get back to it at long last. Was out at Greystones with the kids last weekend so took the rod and had a few casts off the beach using feathers for old times sake. Had to abort after 20 minutes after the kids decided to hop into the ocean but made up my mind to get back to it (without wife & children) this weekend.

So just a few questions if you don't mind to get me back into the swing of things.

- I'm probably gonna head for Greystoes beach again - anyone have any suggestions / tips on somewhere else to try. South side suits better at the mo.

- Any suggestions on bait - think rag used to always get me some action when I was at it last.

I can;t view the reports site until I've added 3 posts, hence asking here!

Thanks, great site this, will be very useful reference

From north Dublin myself but from what iv read so far on here greystones seems to be the closest place to travel to throw up a fish.I'm fairly new to fishing have only caught mackeral and the odd Pollock around howth.would be very grateful for any help.cheers
