Killybegs Harbour

For those newbies around this area can anyone give an accurate map/plan of where you can fish in KB harbour, it would be appreciated as I don't want to p**s anyone off by going to the wrong places. Tried asking a few "locals" around the harbour and got some odd looks

Apart from the gunwell and Russian (opposite side of the water to the gunwell) there is no great fishing in the harbour in my opinion check out his link below as there are better spots nearby, Did you find the gunwell?

I saw people fishing just right on the old pier some mackerel have been cought and I think some conger is also avaliable just wouldn't be sure is anything happening at the time, actually the new pier at the far side would be pretty good, but unfortunatlly there is no access to it.
If you can travel there is some marks that use to produce some pollack in spring time as it quite deep and at the monent pollack is catching good from the boat around Killybegs area

I was fishing in this area it is called Drumanoo head I think, some pollack and mackerel can be cought whenever they are there. There is about 60 yards of rocky bottom which becoms to the mudsand afterwords. We use to stop with the boat quite close to the shore for mackerel and some nice pollacks and few codling were cought aswell.

Went to the Gunwell yesterday for a looksee and found access difficult, not sure if I was in the right place exactly but there seems to have been some housing development at the end of the road and the track beyond the houses in my opinion is no longer accessible unless by 4x4 and some careful driving, certainly an ordinary motor will not get down there. As I couldn't go any further and there seems now to be nowhere to park, had to turn around in a local's driveway at which he didn't seem too pleased.
