Earthworms as bait.

whats yer views on earthworms as bait?..i have used them for wrass with great results..has anyone used them for other species?

A neighbour told me they were good for wrasse too, said they wriggle like hell when they hit salt water.
Species list 2013.Conger, Launce, Pollock, Ballan Wrasse, Dogfish, 3b rockling, Bull Huss, Mackeral, Tub Gurnard.

Species list 2012. Mackeral, Pollock, Coalie, Bass, Dab, Weeverfish, Bull Huss, Poor Cod, Grey Gurnard, Ballan wrasse, Long spined sea scorpion, Conger, Pouting.

I heard of people catching a few flounder on them,but I've never used them for saltwater 8)

Hey, I used them once and caught some Coalies in mayo. The do wriggle like mad.

they do work however they dont work for long about 5 min between bait changes ,they die in minutes in salt water ,flounder love em !

yeah i noticed that alright, they die pretty quick in the salt water..would be worth a try in estuaries maybe where they might get washed into naturally.

Over here in the uk we use them for flounder in are tidal river ribble,although crab takes more fish.
