Report: Fished the same beach where I caught the Bass on Paddys Day http://www.sea-angling-ireland.org/bulletin%20board/viewtopic.php?t=5092 Much better conditions though. I nice surf and a big tide...... What did I get for my troubles.
Call my inexperienced but that seems slightly weird to catch a mullet with those tactics. I'd say it was a nice surprise though!? When I was fishing with Codswollop before he caught a mullet on a spinner. I think it was swimming amongst a small shoal of small bass. He foul hooked it!
Nice fish man.

Protect the magical sport of sea angling and spread the word that conservation is the way forward. Put fish back!!!!
Had one fall to king rag ledgered off a beach the year before last. Mental. Saw another fish taken a few years ago off the rocks, my mate was dropping a lugworm down a rock face when a 4lber shot off with it - thought it was the wrasse of a lifetime
mmm.... interesting. Looks like it's not all that uncommon. This one fell to Rag on the bottom hook of a 1 up 1 down rig. Snood was about 45cm long. Great scrap though.

Is it me or does MAC display an uncanny resemblance to a certain comedian aka Ricky Gervais.... I keep looking at the picture expecting him to break into that dance! ....scary thought!

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...
2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks
Nice fish - still waiting for the first mullet of the year to show up in Dublin. That fish appears from the pectoral fin to be a thick-lip and I have seen them taken before from Dingle beaches on maddies and other baits.
