3 days fishing - WHERE?

#1 Post by chuckaroo »

I have 3 days to take off work before the end of the month :D gonna head off fishing 8)
but, can anyone suggest somewhere to go?!! (in Ireland)

things seem pretty quiet up this way at the moment (unless there are fish being caught somewhere that I dont now about..) and so I would like ANY suggestions on a venue here or there that might produce some reasonable fishing during March
im not looking for any special marks, nor do I require extra special fishing, Im easily pleased :)
i would be particularly keen to target: sea trout, bass, ray, flatties of any sort, but i would consider ANY species. even just a suggestion of a day or a half-a-day somewhere..

i would make a good fishing companion too... any shore and boat options defo open for consideration!
need an xtra man on the boat to make up the costs..?
doesnt particularly matter if we blank, well maybe jut a little :P

ANY suggestions will be warmly welcomed
PMs very welcome and all treated in total confidence
the chances are that i will head away on my own

thanks
Charlie

The beara peninsula should throw up good fishing and can offer shelter in the worst conditions. Contact paul harris on here or google him. He has a b&b and caters for anglers and will show you all the spots to fish too. I never fished there but have only heard good things about it.

Spieces wise you will have ray, conger, bass and many others. Plenty of accom available. Give us a shout if you need any info

West kerry storm beaches like Stradbally,Fermoyle, Gowlane and Kilcummin they are great for bass and flattie fishing. you can target sea trout on the cloghane estuary. you can try the famous Inch strand if a good surf is running for Bass. if you do decide to fish in the likes of stradbally and Gowlane watch out for the strong lateral currents especially on spring tides. ive have had seven ounce grippers picked up and not hold bottom. if you contact ullcatch before you come down they will point you in the right direction.
