Re: Irish Times - angling related article
I read that on Monday John and was going to post something as it states that a new National Bass Policy is under consideration.
Should we be worried re commercial fishing or are they just tweaking the current legislation re the close season and angling catch limits etc?

Re: Irish Times - angling related article
No need to worry, IFI are committed to maintaining bass as an angling-only species. I'm not privy to the proposed policy, but I imagine it is to do with conservation and management of the species on that basis. There are similar reviews on trout, pike and coarse fish underway, which will include reviews of bye-laws, etc, with a view to streamlining these for incorporation into the new inland fisheries legislation...Divisadero wrote:I read that on Monday John and was going to post something as it states that a new National Bass Policy is under consideration.

Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!
