Galway sea bass/sea trout help.
Im wondering if anyone could give me some advice on where i could try lure fishing or fly fishing for sea bass or sea trout this year in Galway?.I am from kilkenny and studying zoology in Galway, i started sea bass fishing last summer in the S.E and i would love to do some fishing here in Galway. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as i am quite new to sea angling.
As i dont have a car i am looking for somewhere to fish that is cycling distance from the city eg. Barna.
Many thanks,
Conor.

I think the best advice you can be given is to get a line in the water...anywhere

Re: Galway sea Bass/sea trout help.
Silverstrand is within cycling distance, you might be able to catch a few flounder from the beach on the right side to the rocks on lug or mack strips.
Salthill, at the diving tower, best fished after dark can hold a few surprises too, even bullhuss. Mack tipped with squid or lug works well.
The pier in Barna is always good for mini species and LRF, not too far away from Galway either. There are a few rock marks around this area you could explore as well.
Tight lines and welcome to the forum!
