Warning - Lacken Co wexford
Sunday 17th February
Fishing Lacken estuary. went back to the car and discovered 3 gentlemen trying to strip
my jeep of its tyres and bullbars. Just a word of warning. These lads were Irish and were planning on selling later.
They were well equipped for the job and only for I came back to the jeep early with my large dog they would have been gone with their
their spoils , leaving me stranded.

Re: Warning - Lacken Co wexford
an unfortunate incident
these incidents are becoming more common by the week ,when you have to arrange a security gaurd to mind your vehicles for a club comp it kind of makes you wonder about the real state of this once prosperous country

Re: Warning - Lacken Co wexford
Thanks for the heads up...
That is a very isolated area... so these guys must be patrolling the area looking for target cars... Did you report it to the guards? It would be worth doing maybe an odd sight of a patrol car would be enough to put these scumbags off.
I sometimes park in the lane, but nearly always drive onto the beach. I will normally leave just before high tide or if the fishing is ok, I will wait till after high tide... At least this way you can keep an eye on the car....

Re: Warning - Lacken Co wexford
Having spoken to him I think the fact that he had the dog made these fellas leave the scene. The problem was their attitude.
They knew they were caught red handed but just walked off as if nothing happened. They were bug thugs as well. They are obviously watching out for vehicles of this type to target and sell on.

Re: Warning - Lacken Co wexford
I know it's a pain but I always park near a house or any civilisation and walk its the only way for peace of mind, just use the google earth and find a safe spot as near to your chosen mark as possible,or you could always ask to park in someone's yard if you explain yourself and promise a fish or two most will say ok

Long time reader first time poster. Was in Lacken on Sunday morning the 17th of February 2013 with two of my mates, Was very windy that day we were going to fish but it was too bad so we decided to walk around and see what the water was like. We met into a man with a big dog with a black jeep. Is this the man who is the owner of the black jeep? Because if it is i'll have you informed that we are regular fishermen of this area and there would be no such activity like that. I know that kind of stuff goes on but we would take part in no such activity so it would be appreciated if you stopped starting rumors.
