Smooth-hound fishing info required please

Am very interested in targeting smooth-hound this year for the first time and was hoping for info on what is best time of year to go for them, and where best to fish for them...
anyone planning a trip for them at any stage where i could tag along..?

PMs would be greatly appreciated too, if preferred

july aug sept are the hot months 8) thats not the weather i reffer to either :lol: send me a pm anytime your thinking of comming down and i,ll do my upmost to put you on a few fish :wink:

North Wexford beaches from late May on. Crab bait essential! Oh, don't leave your rod unattended, they hit baits pretty hard!

iv seen rods dragged over tripods they do hit very hard an then run with the bait

I've seen rods end up in the water. There's no messin about, it's just "bang"! Love it!

aye, it was the time of year that i was most keen to find out. and the location of course, so thanks for all the responses!
really need to get one of these fish, it'll be a total first for me :D
