Hi,
I have bough Braid for the 1st Time and wish to use it while spinning this season.
Just wondering what is the best way to attach it to the mono at the Lure end and what length of mono do I need?
Will be using it for Sea Trout/Sea Bass.
Was wondering if a tiny swivel would be suffice?
Thanks
Colin

Re: Tying Braid to Mono Advice
Hi Colin the strength and length of your leader line is down to you depending on what you are fishing for aswell as the area you are fishing i.e rocks ect....but the best knot i know of and have been using for a few year's is the Albright Knot and here is a link to show you how to tie it..... hope this helps.

Re: Tying Braid to Mono Advice
Thanks Conger looks a real easy knot will tie it with that one! I will be fishing a mixture.
So what length do you recommend for open clear water off a beach 10lb mono
and what length for a rocky outcrop 10 - 15lb mono?
Thanks
Colin

Re: Tying Braid to Mono Advice
Colin the length of your mono is what you feel happy with depending what area you are fishing but if you start of with between 4/6 feet you will be grand and then just work on from that with what works for you.
Good Luck

Re: Tying Braid to Mono Advice
The albright knot is an excellent knot if you dont cast it through the eyes of the ROD... ie, the knot stays outside the tip ring at all times. If you cast it through the eyes the tag end can be damaged and cause your knot to fail. For me I normally use a 2 to 4 foot lenght of Flurocarbon depending on the conditions and what I can get away with casting.

Re: Tying Braid to Mono Advice
If going down 10lbs and less, may I sugest you use some mono like Maxima ultragreen. I've got 8lb seaguar har ace and it doesn't like knots at all. With a normal granny knot, breaking strain is down to 2/3lbs. Pretty bad in my opinion.
