Whiteing as Pike Bait

Hey guys, has anyone ever uesd Whiteing as Pike Bait?? They're obviously so plentyful that a few taken would not impact in numbers... They're a good size too!

whiting is a good pike bait iv caught pike up to 20 lb on them legering them on the bottom. i had 3 whiting in the freezer with the mackeral so i taught id bring them and giv them a go and it worked so best of luck mate

Yes ive had good success with whiting for pike - only jacks so far tough

They are a perfect size alright. I have tried them and not had much luck, but they look liek they should. Thee one thing I will be trying with them is to inject oils into them. I think this might help Pike home in on them as they do not have much, if any of a natural scent

Using whiting with fish oils injected into them is certainly a good idea as I'm inclined to believe that mackerel frozen with them has imparted some scent. Ledgered and slightly popped up from the bottom seems to be the way to go. Let us know how you're getting on!

I would also consider trolling them as well as they are a nice bright colour that should attract Pike.
