Leader Knot

#1 Post by kstaff »

Any of the Fluff chuckers out there have any experience of this knot?

Any sea anglers use it?

check out this video on this type of knot i use it all the time for a permanent butt piece on all of my fly lines -it simply doesn't fail and i would advise any fly anglers using braided loops for this purpose to stop doing so ! hope this helps.this video is the best i've seen.

Sorry lads, I just can't quite relate to the big advantage of using nail knots, needle knots etc. - honestly, why bother? For the sake of the minor horizontal imbalance caused by the radius of your fly line? Ah, people, since about 35 years I tie all my leader loops to the one universal knot which I use in minor variations to tie stop knots, swivels or even for marine grade shock leaders or tiny freshwater spade hooks onto my mainline or snoods. Think simple and get out there to relax without worrying about all the latest hype on what knot library stored on your latest gadget is a definitive 'must know'! Surely, fish wouldn't appreciate the difference a bit. :D
