rigs for calm weather
We have a competition in ballybunion on sunday, there is not ment to be much of a surf and im wondering what rigs are more suited to calm conditions or would i be better of just to lenten the snoods on a two hook or three hook paternoster rig. is there any particular rig that works better for bass in calm conditions. if anybody has any advice id appreciate it.

Re: rigs for calm weather
i think using a lead that will swing around in the tide might help a bit to entice a flounder or two ,a few beads as attractors might also help or a rig with a few floating beads the fluro ones can help too, longer snoods and can help but sometimes short ones will do better ,three baits in close proximity will give a stronger scent trail ,for bass if their is no surf they prob wont be heads down on a feeding frenzy so i would go for a big bait on a pulley ,4 or 5 juicy lug or a whole peeler or razor, the more scent it puts out the better, if its a comp why not use a three hook cascade rig with a big hook on the bottom and two size 4,s on the top two that way you will be able to fish for both ?
good luck any way sure once you get out and enjoy it none of us really worry too much about winning !
or do we?
p.s dont make the same mistake i did last week and take it for granted you pen thats been in the tackle box for two years still works
not too bad normally till you realize the angler next to you has done the same thing and three of you are sharing one pen

rigs and attractors would definitely help alright,,,an odd bang of the rod would too,,,lol
