Re: city west fishing expo 2013
I went to the city west expo last year, the misses won free tickets, which in hindsight I wish she did'nt as its 40 mins off my life I can never get back
it was terrible. All the tackle on sale was old stock or complete crap, I even did 2 laps with money burning a hole in my pocket and I walked out with it still all there and made for the city west shopping centre where I drowned my sorrows in KFC, that was the highlight of it
Fire in the belly, ice in the veins

I went to the city west one a couple of years back. I thought it was very poor.lowie69 wrote:THE 1 in swords is rubbish i think city west is way better
I would be biased though
I noticed last year in Swords that anglers were taking a different view of the show compared to other years. It was less wham-bam spend the Celtic Tiger cash and head back out to the BMW. I thought guys were taking more time around the show...seeing a few talks etc. - more chilled out if you like.
I know the show was sometimes criticized for having a fresh water bias but I think there is a great line up of Sea Angling Guest Speakers....Henry Gilbey, Mike Thrussel, Mary Gavin Hughes and more than likely others too (and moi
The specimen awards are also on in Bewleys ( a shuttle bus down the road) on the Saturday. Methinks the craic could be good !
