homemade fish disgorger/hook remover

hi all

got one of these off a mate a while back and lost it a few weeks back and boy o boy do i miss it,,

any ideas how to make a homemade one as i have a competition on saturday and will be badly required

Didn't try myself, but I was recently considering doing one. I found some info there :

I think there are a few other posts on the subject, but I cannot find them... the original authors may reply to your post.
2011 : pollack
2012 : whiting, dogfish, gurnard, flounder, smooth hound, poor cod, pollack, ballan wrasse, corkwing wrasse, goldshinny wrasse, blenny, bass, codling, rockling, dab, pouting, pollack, sea scorpion
2013 : codling(ie), rockling(ie), wrasse(fr), whiting(fr)

actually believe it or not i got one off gerry below on cleggan pier a few years back and i still have it but just find it too big for the very small competion flats,,,the one i had was stainless slim rod and a nice curve at the top,,,,,,,,put it in my jacketpocket one night and the thing slipped out through a rip in the jacket

heres one me auld fella made,for shark/conger etc with a j-bolt cut dwn,fairly simple just to scale down the size of j-bolt and handle...

i make mine out of a paint bucket handle too big for flats ,ideal for dogs ect to make the handle just double it up and wrap it in duct tape :wink:
