First response says it best. It might seem like a waste to put a dead fish back in the sea but all the other sea creatures will be happy for the feed and you'll be on the right side of the law. Simple.

Hi everyone.
I agree that you should just throw any undersized fish back in the sea. It's unfortunate if it died from deep hooking but what chance have we got of enforcing the law if we leave loopholes like this open for people to jump through. Anybody can mess around with a fish to make it look like it was deep hooked. And as someone on here already said, a small dead fish most certainly won't go to waste on the sea bed. Crabs, seals, larger fish, shrimp, dolphins etc. can all benefit.

Protect the magical sport of sea angling and spread the word that conservation is the way forward. Put fish back!!!!
