camping/fishing
hi,i was thinking of going pike fishing in the colder months but camping while fishing.i was thinking blessington or lough ramor are theese spots any good and could anyone tell me any where else i could try i live in dublin so i dont want to travel much more than an hour or so and any tips on pike fishing as i dont do very much pike fishing thanks lads it would really help

First off ensure you have a good quality bivvy as on an exposed lake you can get hammered in a regular tent. The next thing is ensure your rods are set up correctly in a pod with loud alarms .. As far as the locations go I find the midlands top notch ,blessington does throw up good pike aswell but id try a few short sessions over the next few weeks while the pike are more active and pick the most productive of these for your winter sessions . Remember to take a wide variety of baits and if static baits arent working try popped up or float fished baits .

there is no camping allowed at blessington lakes.. they are patrolled at night time
