Hi lads, Heading over to galway for a few days holidays with my mates, looking for a spot or two close enough to the city for a few mackerel for the BBQ. any help would be very much appreciated, Cheers, Alex.

Hi Alex,

There are a few spots right next to the town, you can try nimmos pier ( at the end of the river) or on the opposite pier (illuminous orange pier directly across from nimmos on the dock side) or try salthill along the promenade, if you want to try further go to barna pier, the macks are small but you should have no problem getting a few for the dinner.

Don't forget the canals in the city they are full of trout and course fish and free to fish ,also plenty of mullet in the river,or give salmon a try :D
