The two main marks in Rosslare are on the Strand (underneath the cannons) and at the Point. Both will fish during the day. The trouble with both is that you will be plagued with people around you if the weather is fine (especially with bathers on the Strand). Smooth Hounds have been showing well lately at both locations. Also a few Bass. The Point has been fishing reasonably well, if very weedy on the rising tides. Some very sweeping tides recently, especially with the Southerly winds.

You could try the section of the Strand up around the golf club. It tends to be frequented less by holiday makers and Ive taken Bass there in a decent surf. If you fancy a scratching session this is the place to go, lol.

If you just want to get your rod tip nodding, Sandeel or Mackerel baits will take Dogfish at all locations.

Feel free to PM me if you want any further info.

Forgot to say that the southerly marks have a fair bit of weed at the moment, thats why I didnt suggest any of them.

Yes you can drive right up to the point, just take your time and handy to have someone checking the clearance over some of the rocks at the end.

Big spring tonight, be careful where you park, and it'll be a while before you can drive back!

I went for a drive down that way last night. I didn't bother driving down to the burrow to the point, but I was talking to some lads on the strand. One of them had some nice hounds to crab earlier, the two biggest over 10lbs. The other lads fishing were using rag, and were plagued by crabs, though one of them had some small pups. I decided to give it a go for a while, but the hounds had gone at this stage. I may pop down this afternoon for a few hours :)

Cheers for the info on the point. I managed to get down to the point but blanked down there. Headed back to the cannons about half ten. I had a few hounds up to about 5lb. I lost a good fish about 12 o'clock and got the hump so headed for home. I might head down tomorrow night again for a bit.
