Float setup...

#1 Post by mackfish »

Well lads..hope you're well!
A quick question about setting up a float rig...I bought a few of the rigs in packs and each had a float, hook, beads, a weight and small rubber bands...it comes with usual instructions on the wrapper on how to put it together...I'm told the rubber bands are for stop knots...now, my question is...

What/how is the best way to put them onto the line as a stop knot??

Cheers

Hey Mackfish,

I usually set up the rig on my line, then I get the elastic band and hold it together with my main line so that the line runs beside the center of the band. Then pull one side of the elastic through the other making sure the main line is in the center. This creates the knot. Hope that is easy to follow!

Cheers...now I think I have it right in my head...so you're not actually tying a knot..just using the tension of the band against itself?

Go onto youtube and search for stop knot. Its very easy to tie but looks a little awkward. Practice it with some mono and youll get it easy enough.
