Achill visit

Hi all,

Heading to Achill next weekend and looking for a decent mark for some easy fishing. Can anyone suggest a good spot and let me know what species are lickley??

Try down the rocky outcrop on the way up to keem bay. Usually throws up some nice pollack wrasse coalies and mackerel. Its fairly handy fishing with good deep water. Its known as the EIRE rocks. The rocks at the back of purteen harbour can be good too I had some nice gurnard and pollack the last august and caught my 1st octopus there too!!

is it just rock marks or are you looking for a beach marks too

as said above the rock abound purteen harbour is good for pollock and mack but inside the harbour on a rising tide is good for big conger

Cheers guys,

Any spots around there were Ray are possible, Turbot either? There must be lots of marks around Achill... They must all be secret :mrgreen:

chris you will get ray from a beach called durgot (not sure on spelling) also keem bay plus some small turbot there aswell but your best chance of a turbot is keel beach down the far end near the mountian also a chance of a bass from there
