Lahinch beach info
Well lads, might head to Lahinch some night over the next week weather permitting, Have never fished there before even though it is fairly close. Was just wondering would I be better to fish down by the esturary or under the prom and what is the best state of tide to fish there, I only ever have any luck on my local beach when its out and just starting to rise again. Will be using lug and hoping for flounder with a bass being a bonus, any info would be greatly appreciated and feel free to pm me if you wish.

You will have to fish at night if you want to go now unless you are targeting surfers. Two hours up to high and two hours back down, fish off the steps at the far end of the car park.
The Truth is often stumbled upon by men, most of whom pick themselves up and hurry along as if nothing ever happened.

Thanks. It would be night anyway, I am well aware of the surfers. Funny the way beaches differ, have fished fanore a few times up to high and back down and never had so much as a nibble on 2 rods but I dont think I have ever blanked there when it is out!!

Re: Lahinch beach info
Rocks on extreme left are very snaggy but the margin with the sand can be very good for flounder, dogs and the odd bass, and even wrasse and pollack in lumpy weather.
Fish the surf at any stage, after dark, in or out - obviously casting a bit further on the ebb. Sand eel and lugworm worked well in the past. Strong moonlight will put fish off the feed on this beach. Depending on storms, there is a big or small patch of roughish ground right out in front at low water that can be very productive just as the tide turns. Small strips of mack can work a treat here as a change but you have been warned it can be doggie central.
As you move towards the estuary you need to be careful as it can get snaggy and there is quicksand in the estuary itself. There is a spit that runs out and you need the land the baits just on the far side of this - on it and you wont get a tap. BTW spinning in the deep channel of the estuary can account for bass, sea trout and the occasional salmon. Mullet at bridge.
