Hi
Heading over to clare for a weeks holidays (Bell harbour ,burren area) and going to bring the rods for a bit of fishing - I see a few places mentioned like fanore etc - just wondering if anyone had any pointers for me - eg,tides ,baits etc species
Also anywhere to buy fresh bait nearby
thanks in advance

Up around blackhead its a spot for mackerel from the rocks, continuing up that road you might get Pollack and wrasse at the lighthouse. If you're fishing from the rocks be careful.

Life is starting to return to the bay. The flats near Ballyvaughan were filled with mackerel, mostly undersized though on Wednesday. Lots of baitfish around and the odd decent fish starting to show again. The water is still not quite right and has a slight opaque tinge to it and is again carrying a fair bit of weed but is easily fishable.
The Truth is often stumbled upon by men, most of whom pick themselves up and hurry along as if nothing ever happened.
