Report:went out for a few hours yesterday with an old friend of mine also named john, he had not fished up around here in about 4 years or so, he mostly fishes around cahore.
he was in bad need of a few macks as they are impossible to get down there at the moment. so of we went had around 30 to start off with and also had about 10 launce,had a quick chat with pat(yappo) and off we went in search of a ray of hope, not a sniff only a clatter of dogs with a few grey gurnards and some nice dabs and pin whitings for our troubles.
so off in search of edible things and a rock dwellers, went to a mark i have had a few ling from and after a few minutes on his first drop john landed a nice little ling that he quickly dispatched for the table, as it's been a while since he had one
next fish came to myself a nice plump cod around 2.5lb,we also had a couple of small pollack and ballans, time was starting to slip away from us when we decided to look for a few more macks,after a bit of searching we got another 60 or so, not too bad for a few hours afloat
great to see things picking up
