Ballycotton was well over crowded today and i think everyone caught at least 1 mackerel there today. I caught 7 in 1.5h period. So mackerel is moving in :).

In the last 2 weeks loads are being caught in the west... I got my freezer stocked up for all use, bait, rubby dubby including neighbours tables and grills... average of 40 pieces an hour for all those that are there... Back aching but happy to have moved to light gears after bashing them with 6 hook feathers...

Now I have my rubby dubby ready...

The stretch of warm days made them come in... :D

Good luck to those that will eventually do the same in the next day or so...

Fished Howth harbour this morning from 3 hours before high tide to 1 hours after. Nothing happening; about 10 other guys around and didn't see anything landed. Nice sunny morning anyway 8)

Cycled home had a nice shower, dinner etc etc.. Will keep on giving it a try and keep posted, only had frozen mackerel for bait but always thought it isn't the scent but the presentation that's important when targetting them. Maybe someone can put me straight? Normally would hit the back of the pier with the feathers first and then use the fresh mackerel for targeting them. Has always worked in the past.

seven from the rocks at ardglass golf course co.down. was using small jigs (size 6 hook). would of had plenty more but some dropped off as i was hauling them in (i blame the small hooks but i deffinetly think they work better here). also had plenty of small pollack and a decent coley of 1 3/4lbs. nice morning (tuesday 5th june).

Plenty off the rocks of North Clare over high water, but still a good cast out. Same methods as last year, small white baitcatchers cut down to three feathers and bounce slowly along the bottom.
The Truth is often stumbled upon by men, most of whom pick themselves up and hurry along as if nothing ever happened.
