Trabolgan

#12 Post by Mikesound »

I fished the bay in Trabolgan last year.
To get away from the Pop idol rejects that were performing there hehehe
I fished the bay there one night two hours before and after low tide.
Two hook flappers with mack strip on the bottom and lug on top.
I had two dogfish on the dropping tide on mackerel and two schoolies to about 35cm on the rise on the lug.
I put them all back for you, hahaha. I was down there earlier that day and there was lots of big mackerel in the bay that were taking brown metal lures, lots of sprat too.
The area to both sides of the bay is craggy and weedy and falls away to sandy bottom....you'll catch nothing there hahaha wink wink nudge nudge
Fish the right hand side as the sewerage plant is on the hill on the left!
Be careful as the tide comes in fast and beware of golf balls raining down from the pitch and putt above!!!
You'll also see big mullet down at aghada pier.
I didn't get to fish any of the local beaches but they all look good and fishy.
On a non fishing related note, the accomodation is great, really clean and modern, the bars are big, the drink is cheap, good stout, great facilities there but you pay for everything, you'll get a book of vouchers when you arrive, these will save you a fortune!!!
Have fun!
The more I learn about people, the more I go fishing......
