People:Just me

Duration:8.00pm to 11.30pm

Tide:Last half hour of ebb up

Weather:Breezy with odd shower

Bait:Peeler, Razor, Rag, Sandeel

Rigs:1 2/0 2 hook flapper, 1 size 2 blinged up 2 hook flapper

Results:2 LSDs...........................................Oh yeah, My first 2 bass of the season also :D :D :D :D

Report:Wasnt much surf breaking when I set up despite the breeze. Decided to give it a lash anyway, set up directly in front of the carpark with 2 hook flappers on both rods, 1 fished 40 yards, the other at 100. It was at least an hour and a half before I got a bite, reeled in the first LSD of the year (ill never be as pleased to see one!!) taken on crab at range. This was shortly followed soon after by another, again on crab. Whilst being occupied by the doggie action (ooer...!) I had ignored the rod fishing short. I noticed line was running off up to the right so tightened up and struck, a couple of minutes later there was a lovely bar of silver at my feet, stuck him on the scale, he went to 2lb 14 oz and slipped him back. 3/4s of an hour passed with me missing two clonking bites on a whole peeler I had sent out before the rod fished short started bouncing around again. Bass no 2 made his appearance, coming in at 3lb even, again slipped back.

Both Bass were taken on Razor, both LSDs were taken on Peeler, Rag and sandeel went unnoticed and untouched. Wonderful evenings fishing, the breeze calmed down soon after it got dark and the moon came out, not a being to be seen anywhere, super stuff. Highly delighted with the Bass captures :D

Cheers Lads, last month or two have been very lean so great to see a few fish. Fished there again last night with Phanover, very calm conditions, what little surf had been there the night before was gone and it showed. The only fish I had last night was quite a surprise, it was a codling of around a pound or so...on a shallow surf beach....with no surf??? Is this normal? :? For the record, it took a whole small peeler crab on a 2/0 fished at range. Slipped him back anyway and off he went.
Unfortunately that was the only fish of the session, unsurprising really on a shallow beach in super flat conditions with the whole place lit up with the moon but sure we had to have another crack after the previous night.
Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial :D
