NORTH COAST 25/04/12

People:me and neil

Duration:5 hrs

Tide:going low

Weather:ne gale

Bait:ragworm, mackerel

Rigs:pulley

Results:1 pollock




Report:

Well, i have been out a few nights durin last week and this week hunting bass but with no success. i have tried 4 beaches and have used every tactic in the book. so with no bass showing i decided to go somewere diffrent.

headed out about 12 noon and i was met by a north east gale and big swells. i said to myself i must be crazy heading out fishing in this :P but i got my suit on and me and the brother headed to a shelterd mark. i havent heard any reports on the mark this year so i hadnt a clue what way it would fish.

it was very poor with nothing for about 3 hours and then i hit a 3 pound pollock, neil sadly didnt get a bite.

i was happy with a pollock but in general the fishing is poor on the north coast. for me anyway.lol

think ill leave the bass for a while and hit some diffrent marks.

very nice pollack fagan. fair play til ye
fishin grim everywhere where ive been trying recently round the north coast.
mind you, met a few guys in kayaks last weekend in red bay, they had much better fishing. wouldnt fancy kayaking in that wind though.. :shock: :P

Fair play to you man for venturing out in that wind, Nial k had bait booked but I wasn't up for it. Cecelia Daly talked out of it :)

Anyhow well done with the pollock, deserved result for fishing in those conditions.

cheers chuck its days like that a flotation suit gets gets fully tested for windproof. :lol: :lol:
i def wouldnt be on a kayak that day, funny enouough i seen 2 guys on kayaks the last session, dont know how they done tho. i was well chuffed with that pollock but its grim fishing is right. hopefully it picks up next month. ive wasted alot of bait ( money ) this past while with no success. the rod tip needs a twitch very soon. :lol:

cecelia daly talked u out of it.lol dont go by the weather all the time monty there always wrong. except for tuesday she was spot on. :lol: :lol:
