Wicklow this Saturday

#1 Post by geo82 »

Hi, I am planning a trip to Wicklow this Saturday, and don't really know where exactly to go yet, went to Brits Bay last year for a session didn't catch anything, someone told me the bridge in Wicklow is good, but someone also said its not really a place for fishing. So I was wondering if I can get some advice from the experts here? thanks in advance!

all the anglers on the Dublin/wicklow coastline would love to be down in your part of the world, why would you want to fish up here.
I have only fished the north wicklow beaches recently and they have been full of weed so stay well clear

I'm fishing kilcoole today so I'll let you know how that goes. Arklow south beach normally is fairly reliable for a few small species if you just want a change from the norm but I haven't heard anything regarding the weed situation there

Kilcoole not tooooooooo weedy today but very few fish also. Between ten of us there were only 9 fish caught over 5 hrs. It does fish an awful lot better in darkness though, usually with plenty of doggies, whiting , flatties , coleys etc

I fished ennareily on saturday nite and had a few flats up to 30cm. Also had a few decent doggies, and a few not to bad whiting. Also had a real decent fish I lost a few yards out, didnt get to see it but it was taking line and putting a real bend in the rod.

I fished the south beach just straight out in front off the car park. Didnt want leave my car out off view as 2 traveler familys have set up house in the car park. There was no weed and some good fishing to be had. But that was now a week ago.
