hello all once again.this is something that always had me wondering.i took a spin back west yesterday to a well known beach.as i got there i was expecting the odd surfer to be there but there was about 10 guys other than the surfers with parachutes and skimming the top of the surface with a smaller board.they went from one end of the long beach to the other.in tight, our deep etc.i think this is more common over the east coast around the dublin area.
surely no fish such as seatrout or bass would be in the area while this is going on.maybe it might even move some of the flatties in the sand to deeper water etc
i think your chances of catching are well below average.has anyone had this problem or any encounters with these thril seekers
Does watersport games on a beach scare the fish away??

Re: Does watersport games on a beach scare the fish away??
Ive seen shoals of salmon move back out to see when surfers were present as they do when seals or dolphins are about but they moved in after they left the area. I presume its the same for other species but the beach is an amenity for all so I try not to think about it too much otherwise id be aiming for them lol

Re: Does watersport games on a beach scare the fish away??
I've had an encounter with about 50 surfers on Streeda beach in the Master Angler five years ago. Not a fish was to be had with all the commotion in the water............ I never caught a fish but I got a great bite from a giant surfer when I launched a 8oz over his shoulder

Kstaff has always been the new black in my eyes anyway!!!!!!!

We were fishing a South Dublin beach a couple of years back there, were a few people swimming beside us naked
not a bite. Then when they left the place came alive with fish jumping all around us, we had 3 Bass
