I use the Beta box and fully recommend it. With the addition of the Breakaway conversion it gets even better.

Re: What's the best seat box???
Shakespeare Beta box is very good, it all I have anyway so cant compare to others but I like it alot for beach fishing. I found it was a curse to carry using just the strap alone, so got the breakaway conversion kit and find it makes transport really easy, also the frame gives you something to grab onto when you need to re-position it. If you have to hike any distance to get to your spot its worth getting the kit alright but if just a short distance you would manage without it. Its great to sit on when beach fishing. The little tray for the side of it is very handy also, saves digging around in the box for the vital bits once you are set up.
I would not dream of bringing it when rock fishing, too cumbersome and not a flexible as a bag. Its the only thing for beach or pier though.
They have no breathing or drainage so if they get wet you do need to empty and dry out, but that goes for all gear anyway, its just good maintenance.
Hope this helps.
