Sea Safety Message from the RNLI

With the Easter bank holiday approaching and boat owners busy preparing their boats to go afloat we urge you to be safe and think sea safety.
Please follow these six simple tips:

INFORM
Tell others where you're going and when you are likely to return!

TRAINING
Knowledge of your activity is essential.

SOS DEVICE
Carry a means of calling for help. Mobile phones might be out of coverage in certain areas.

WEAR A LIFEJACKET
A life statement, not a fashion one, wear it!

ENGINE AND FUEL CHECK?
Have you sufficient fuel and spares?

TIDES AND WEATHER
Check the conditions before heading out!

The RNLI offers free sea safety advice both ashore and afloat. If you would like more information feel free to contact your local sea safety volunteer.

Be safe and enjoy the water!

also one of the biggest problems they incounter this time of year is bad fuel.guys topping up petrol that has been stored for 5 months in a can or tank. use fresh petrol ,as petrol has ethanol which absorbs moisture this blocks the carbs thus breakdowns .having spent 2 weeks on the slip in howth the amount of tow ins with this been the cause id say was 90%.and all had the same story i dont understand this iv only paid 200 euros to get this serviced :? and there then asked was the fuel tank emptied? its easier to see with a water separator the amount of water in the fuel.
