How old is the Sea Angling Ireland Website?

#1 Post by pete »

Just read some of the old shore angling reports there in the new archive section and it brought a wee tear to my eye, is it nearly ten years since the forum was launched  ??? Wondering too how many of the 2003 to 2005 vintage members are still using and posting? Should have a 'pensioner' status in addition to the 'seadog' one for those golden oldies

That's the earliest thread we still have - we lost some earlier threads for some reason.

Hard to believe....that would have been right bang in the middle of the Celtic Tiger too. Seems like only yesterday.

Posts were culled automatically by the software at one stage if they were over a year old but this was fixed. I'm number 31 on the list of who joined but I think JD culled non-active members a few years back. Though that was back in the day when you could guest post so I didn't register straight away.

I hope there's an organizing committee for 2013 anniversary.

I just found this after not being on the forum for a nosey in quite a while, its funny reading back through the posts/reports, had a look in the old gallery for photos, and think one of my earliest was from june 2004, well before this new fangled light lure fishing fad came along check out the light lure gear from ye oldie days http://www.sea-angling-ireland.org/gallery4.htm, none of this fancy stuff here :-)
If someone shows you a mark to fish, respect it and dont pass it of as one of your own, dont tell every man and his dog about it.
