People: Shannon Town AC, 15 anglers
Duration: 12pm to 4pm
Tide: Low tide at 3pm, 4 metre tide diff
Weather: sunny with northerly breeze
Bait: Fish baits
Rigs: You name it.
Results: around 4 ray, around 10 doggies. I missed out on exact numbers.
Report: 15 anglers fished around half caught. I had a blankety blank. A couple of fish were caught either side of me and I had nera tap on the rod. Worse still I don't know what If anything I was doing wrong. my only excuse was my casting was very off today and things were scratchy. Poor fishing was expected due to the cold snap and early season. On the bright side the winner had a 5.1kg and a 5kg specimen thornback ray which is fair going.

Actually the IFSC weight is 20lbs. Sorry the word specimen was in my own opinion. As far as I'm aware theres no one standard shore weight. I remember the IFSA have one if thats the one your on about but we're not members.

Fished Poulnasherry today for 2 hrs. around Low Water.
Much milder than yesterday with slack SW breeze.
Had first fish of season a small Thornie of about 2 kgs. on sandeel/mackerel one hook pulley rig. Nothing else, crabs very busy!

People: Shannon Town AC, 9 anglers
Duration: 12pm to 4pm
Tide: Low tide at 3pm
Weather: sunny with strong north westerly wind
Bait: Fish baits
Rigs: You name it.
Results: 1 ray (2.7kg), and 4 doggies.
Report: Fishing was even worse than the last day which came as a complete suprise to me. Same 3 pegs that produced most of the fish the last day were they only ones to catch fish or even see a bite. Well done to Sean365 who came third.
