casting from beaches

More than likely wrong section but as a lot of us fish rather than cast for sport i reckon i may get more answers here.Just curious as to the suitabilty of casting off the ground when fishing when using grip leads.I know with a plain lead there is'nt really an issue but what if you have to use grippers and the terrain your casting from is either stoney shingle or plain sand.How does one avoid getting the grips stuck when in the process of casting.
On second thoughts maybe the casting lads would have an answer to this one ie "learn how to pendulum cast properly"

Thanks lads.Just wondering regards the plywood if the standard version is much stiffer than the hiflex version .All jokes aside the piping idea i heard of over the weekend so i may just give it ago.

I do all my casting off the ground,its on a very rare occasion that i've encounted problems casting off different types of ground. you just have to take more care as to where you lay your lead

i cast off the ground with grippers without any problem just be carefull when you lay the lead down, you can set it down gently then let out more line afterwards just dont use a low arc and you should be ok you can do an off the ground style with the lead up off the ground so to speak, shorten your drop enough to get your right arm up high and start the cast in the same position as you would an off the ground you will lose a few yards but having a shorter drop will load the rod quicker and your body rotation will be the same as the otg ,added 30 or 40 yards to my overhead thump
