carrickfergus harbour 28.03.2006

People:ten carrick beach & rockers

Duration:three hours

Tide:incoming

Weather:very cold but calm

Bait:rag, lug, mackeral

Rigs:three hook flappers size 2s and 4s

Results:codling, coalfish, whiting, pouting, plaice,


Report:another good nights crack, john rodgers took this leg of the clubs easter cups league, chris todd took the junior section all species taken were very small but at least there was fish caught, we were surprised to see a small plaice caught in fact its the first flatty of any kind ive seen caught of the harbour :wink:

Where bouts on the peir do you actually fish sturaty...are the fish at distance or they quite close in?

ive had flounder inside the hardour stu and dabs over the wall ive only ever seen 1 plaice taken off the harbour and it was in the mouth of the harbour

IT SEEMS TO BE POT LUCK HAIRY CONGER, THE MOST OF THE FISH WERE TAKEN AT THE MOUTH OF THE PIER
BEST BAITS RAG OR LUG TIPPED WITH MACKERAL :wink:
