Ballycastle area forum meet

#1 Post by Ronald »

People:Myself ,kissmywrasse ,K2 ,rab ,JGF ,jonny ,shockleader50 ,h.rocks ,getthecreelsin, theirmate ,stuarty langridge .

Duration:09.00HRS - 17.00HRS

Tide:HW 08.00HRS LW 14.00HRS

Weather:SSW 15MPH ,Cloudy ,wet ,dry ,and very squally

Bait:mostly sandeel ,some rag and mackerel

Rigs:mainly spun sandeel

Results:pollack,coalies,rockling

Report:Forum meet as arranged after big pollack ,unfortunaly no one told the pollack best fish was about 4lb ,still not bad considering the conditions ,as the wind seemed to be funneling down of the cliffs making spinning very difficult ,when the wind died later there was a noticable increase in the ammount of hits to the sandeel .
Good to meet a few more faces from the forum ,not sure how many will go back to this place as the fishing wasn't great today and the walk was a bit of a killer ,k2 even managed to drink 6 cans of coke due to effort involved .
plenty of banter going around as well so not a bad day in all ,though knackerd now after trying to keep my balance all day perched on top of a boulder . i'll see if i can up load some pics either here or in my personal gallery .

Great day out.... Although it involved clambering over boulders, then the most Evil hill in existance, But besides that It was all good...

Nice to see so many members in attendance, Hopefully the trend continues for Future meets. 8)

nothing. not even a tiddler. i did fall down a hole between two boulders though which a very sly piece of grass happened to be covering over. my waist was level with the ground with one leg dangling in the hole only my right knee got jammed on the way down id say i would have went the whole way in. got a big swelled up knee to prove it. glad to hear the wind died down and the fishing picked up for the rest of yous. :D

Apart from the wind making spinning pretty difficult , it was good to put faces to names. I'd go back again, but would travel lighter and bring a back up rod for an alternative to spinning. Definitely keep me posted for further meets. Oh aye, "Mate" was baby H Rocks. As you may have noticed - he was always first to the table at dinner time !! :D

Good to hear you're still alive K2, looked a bit touch and go for a while ! :D

Hello all - glad to hear everyone got home in one piece. Good to meet more of the forum members yesterday and thanks to kissmywrasse and Ronald for sharing the mark with us - despite my brief stay i'll try to get back to it as it can definitely produce the goods - although not a recommended mark for those adverse to a bit of a hike!
