Lead replenishment

#1 Post by Preston »

Just wondering is their anywhere that sells 5oz or 6oz leads cheap.I usually fish rough ground and am going through weights like there's no tomorrow usually 4 or five a session . I don't mind losing the rigs but I'll probably decimate the fish population from lead poisoning so any help would be great .

Thanks

I thought murrays did their plain leads fairly cheap, but having said that was quiet a while back. They also had some grip leads that were useable but not great in rougher weather.

Hi kstaff ,

Im mainly fishing Monkstown which is fairly rough . I was talking to Donal yesterday and I'd say my casting Isn't quite there yet and I'm not clearing the rocks as I tend to loose more in windy conditions . Being the gent that he is he gave me some leads as well as a few great pointers :) .I'd say my knots need work too if i'm honest

How Ya,

you're sorted already so if Domo is on the case. :D

Sort those knots, practice your casting and keep your rod up high and reel fast down there, a lead lift might help too?

Before Donal mentions it I got snagged myself very recently at De Wall

Good Luck.
