Re: weather not much fun
That's pretty bad all right. 11.4m waves?
Over here we've pretty well a had a gale a day since early October, and the outlook for the next while is just as bad. Boat back in the shed long ago. I keep a daily weather log, and the wind seems to be getting steadily worse over the last 3 years.

Re: weather not much fun
Here's a link to a forum with a post about a record wave height of 19.7m recorded off the Faroe Islands last month.

Re: weather not much fun
it's been very windy for some time now. I normally plan my boat fishing over a weekend as it normally entails a bit of a tow. I'm not really close enough to good locations for spur of the moment fishing when the weather eases. From memory, there has been very little steeled weather over the summer and into the Autumn... The engine did not get anywhere near the hours I intended to put up on her this year... Very frustrating year for me.

In Ireland we have one season, its called misery.
The finest gift you can give a fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

My quote on the weather has always been “the only difference between winter and summer in Ireland is that the rain is colder in the winter”
